Senneville

On the western point of Montreal’s Island, in the charming and privacy of Senneville, are some of the West Island’s most expensive residences. Senneville is bordered to the north and west by Lake of Two Mountains. The village and Pierrefonds are separated to the east by the Morgan Arboretum’s boundary, while Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue is to the south.

It used to be a preferred place for the country homes of affluent Montrealers due to its proximity to the city. Numerous golf clubs, a yacht club, and La Ferme du Fort Senneville, an ecological demonstration farm, are among the attractions. A significant bird sanctuary, the Morgan Arboretum was established here in 1953 and is currently run by Macdonald College.

Senneville’s way of life is rather exclusive. Not even a Tim Hortons will be around. There are many farms and orchards, and houses that are more like manors and villas with huge properties and old stone walls separating them from the road. While still living on Montreal Island, locals tend to enjoy the peace and quiet.
