- Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal
The Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal connects Lake Saint-Louis and Lake of Two Mountains in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada, which is the furthest western point of Montreal Island. It is a Canadian National Historic Site.
Boaters dock and even spend the night on their boats in order to take full advantage of the attractions, restaurants, and shops along the canal. On land, people wander along the boardwalk that is close to the river while they observe the lock’s activities. You will encounter local farmers and craftsmen selling a wide range of produce, including several certified organic fruits and vegetables, fresh eggs, artisan cheeses, special bread and pastry goods, and even crafts as you listen to local musicians.
The market relocates to the seaside at the intersection of Sainte-Anne Street and rue Saint-Pierre during the summer. He moves indoors to St. George’s Anglican Church, two minutes from Lakeshore Road, as soon as winter hits and stays there till spring.
