Outremont

Outremont is an upscale residential neighborhood in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. it is located in southwestern Quebec on the island of Montreal. The majority of the residents are Quebecers, although there is also a Hasidic Jewish population in the area. Outremont has been primarily residential since the 1950s.

Outremont was a separate city until the municipal mergers of 2000, and it is located north of downtown – Outremont means “beyond the mountain,”.

On the north-western side of Mount Royal, this park-filled, primarily residential suburb is found. Its oldest properties originate from the early nineteenth century, when Montréal’s French-speaking social elite developed country homes there. Côte-des-Neiges is on the west, Van Horne is on the north, Avenue du Parc is on the east, and Mont-Royal is on the south. Laurier, between Côte Sainte-Catherine and Parc, is overflowing with elegant stores, while Bernard and Van Horne are restaurant hotspots.

This Montreal borough is a modest, calm, and beautiful residential heaven. Outremont has earned a reputation as one of the island’s most beautiful and refined neighborhoods during the last 40 years. It’s also one among the smallest, with an area of about 3.84 km2 (1.49 mi2). Outremont, like its neighbour Westmount, is a wealthy area with a variety of green spaces – roughly 25 parks and thousands of trees – but its population is primarily French-speaking.
