Kirkland

Kirkland is an area in the West Island in southwestern Quebec Canada. This city is named after Charles-Aimé Kirkland, a politician from Quebec. It was incorporated as a town in the year 1961.

Kirkland is mostly a residential area with a Trans-Canada Highway-adjacent industrial park and a commercial center (Autoroute 40). That section of Autoroute 40 was given the new title Félix-Leclerc Highway in 1997. The majority of the city’s buildings are single-family homes, while there are a few multi-unit structures (apartments, townhouses, and condos) as well.
