Sainte-Rose

Sainte-Rose is a neighborhood of Laval, Quebec. It was formed as a village in 1850 and remained a distinct town until August 6, 1965, when municipal mergers united all of the municipalities on Île Jésus into a single City of Laval.

Ste-Rose is well known for its local parish, built in 1740, which houses a Casavant Frères organ and organizes various events throughout the year, and also for “Vieux Ste-Rose,” a region famed for its traditional residences and restaurants.

Saint-Rose is a charming town on the outskirts of Laval. The Rivière des Mille-Îles borders it to the north. Highway 15, which connects Saint-Rose and Fabreville, borders the region to the west. Chomedey is to the south, and Auteuil and Vimont are to the east.

The city had a population of about 36,726 in the year 2016.

In addition to water sports, green areas, and fresh air, summer tourists who go to Sainte-Rose are always coming to the beaches. Beaulieu beaches, located right next to the Plessis-Bélair bridge, and Sainte-Rose, on the location of the present Berge des Baigneurs, are all here in Sainte-Rose.

The Sainte-Rose-de-Lima church, a treasure of Laval’s history, was completed between 1852 and 1856 according to the designs of renowned Montreal architect Victor Bourgeau.
