Since 2014, groups of students, workers, women, and elders have created collective works in which the combination of unique components created artworks that reflect the city’s individuality.

Public Piano: First of its kind in Quebec, the interactive public piano is the outcome of cultural mediation between fifth-grade kids from École Saint-Jean and artist-painter Audrée Bourdeau as well as a partnership with graphic designer Fred Trétout.

Everyone can use it in the summertime in Optimist Park under the gazebo. As a result, Sainte-Catherine joins more than 60 other cities worldwide as a part of the global Play Me, I’m Yours project.

Wall Art: A special piece was produced by thirteen young Sainte-Catherinoises who combined their abilities to decorate the Town’s recreation trailer!

This vibrant piece was created as a result of a cultural mediation between the urban art organization ASHOP and the multidisciplinary artist Monk.E. The finished product was on display for everyone to see at the Sainte-Catherine Optimist Park’s Le Chemin de la frousse Halloween celebration.

Collective Fresco: Francis Coupal served as the artistic mentor for one of the City of Sainte-Catherine’s first cultural mediations, which was conducted as part of the Journées de la culture 2014. The latter performs interactive visual arts initiatives for numerous groups while also working as a multi-tasking artist and glassmaker for more than twenty years.
