Deux-Montagnes

The suburban municipality Deux-Montagnes is located on the north coast of the Rivière des Mille Îles where it flows into the Lake of Two Mountains in southwest Quebec, Canada (Lac des Deux Montagnes). It is a piece of the larger Montreal area’s Deux-Montagnes Regional County Municipality. It lies about 40 km south of Montreal.

Saint-Eustache-sur-le-Lac was Deux-Montagnes’ original name. This municipality was formally established on August 18, 1921, when there were fewer than 300 people living there. The initial settlers of the area, eventually to be known as the city of Deux-Montagnes, were located in the Grand-Moulin district.

The city was recently reported to have a population of about 18,650.

Deux-Montagnes may not be as well-known as other Canadian cities. Deux-Montagnes is a newer, smaller, but lovely area that is well worth a trip. You might be shocked by some of the unique activities and sites you might find in this undiscovered destination.
